HPI China Attended the Passing on the Gift Ceremony at Dayi

On March 23, at the invitation from Dayi County Bureau of Animal Husbandry, Mr. Chen Taiyong, the country director of HPI China and his colleagues attended the Passing on the Gift Ceremony at Sujia Township of Dayi County. At the ceremony, Liu Jianfeng, a young farmer donated 100 rabbits to 25 families of the same township. Director Chen presented Liu a letter of congratulations on behalf of HPI China and introduced to the participants the situation of passing on the gifts in Dayi County.

By the end of 2003, 36 generations including 22,764 rabbits have been passed on to 3741 recipient families. Mr. Quan Youqing, senior veterinary and former director of Dayi County Bureau of Animal Husbandry, and Mr. Chen, secretary general of the township delivered speeches respectively, praising Liu for his donation and pointed out it is in accordance with HPI spirit of share and care.

The 25 recipient families have no experience of rabbit-raising, so Liu distributed each family with feed and preventive medicine for alimentary canal disease of rabbits and gave instructions on the timing and dose of medicine taking. The farmers all smiled with happiness seeing the lively rabbits in their own baskets.
