“Pulu” is a very popular, traditional and unique weaving skill in Tibet . Almost all the local women have basic weaving skill. Nowadays, the handicraft industry of weaving in Qusum aims to meet the family needs and it is non-market system. So, most of the women in the countryside can meet the family needs of handicraft.

In November of 2006, with the guidance of Heifer China Tibetan Program, a “Women's Weaving Self-Help Group” was established in Xialuo Village . Several women and one man became the first members. They utilize traditional weaving skills and local materials to make handbags, gloves, caps, scarves and etc for tourism purpose. They wish this activity can bring more cash income and the products can be more accepted by the tourist market. They also want themselves become the model for other families and the community more harmonious and united.
