USA Department of Treasury Special Envoy for China visited Heifer project in Dayi

A delegation from USA Department of Treasury, accompanied by US Chengdu Consul General and Chinese governmental officials of Department of Finance, visited Heifer's project in Dayi on March 5 th , 2007. The delegation includes Alan Holmer, Special Envoy for China, Strategic & Economic Dialogue, Taiya Smith, Deputy Chief of Staff, Clay Lowery and David Loevinger.

This group visited Fenghuang Village first and had conversations with project farmers. Later, the group visited Rabbit King – Ren Xuping's farm and listened to his story. As Heifer China 's project partner, Ren also shared his work of project implementation. A warm discussion was conducted focusing on the issues of China 's rural development, community environmental conservation and entrepreneur's business development, etc.

Mr. Envoy said himself is the supporter of Heifer in USA and it was quite impressive to visit Dayi project. In this visit, he saw the great development brought by Heifer projects. He also hoped that more and more people would become rich through the projects.
