POG in Seda and Ganzi

On 20 th and 22 nd of May 2007, the Passing on the Gift Ceremonies of HPI-TBF (The Bridge Fund) co-supported project were held in Seda County and Ganzi County of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

30 original recipient families of Yalong Town of Seda County and 40 families of Xiaxiong Town of Ganzi County passed the “gift fund” separately to other 30 and 40 families in their communities to buy female yaks. Heifer China staff and project partners presented “POG certificate” to the families who passed on the gift and signed “POG contract” with families who received gifts.

During the whole ceremony, what we heard most is “Kazhuo (thanks in Tibetan)”. After 3 years project implementation, families had their living standard, animal management skills and snow disaster resistance ability improved. The families receiving gifts also expressed that they will try their best and pass on the gifts to other needy families.
