Heifer China is a participatory, community-based rural development organization that is highly respected locally, nationally and internationally for its achievements in development programs with strong accountability.

Partnering with both non-government and government organizations, Heifer China will consolidate resources available, and manage projects effectively and efficiently in 5 remote and minority regions of China. What Heifer China brings to partners is not only resources and technology, but values-based holistic development approach.

Through environment-friendly livestock development, Heifer China will have assisted 40,000 additional families in 5 regions (10 provinces) by 2009. With increasing income, they will have better nutrition, living condition, environment, gender equity, community development, and stronger self-esteem.
