Volunteer Activities

1. In March of 2004, Mr. Tian Feng, HPI China's volunteer, shoot two documentaries of HPI China's projects in Nanbu County and Xideng County in Sichuan Province accompanied by HPI China and Hong Kong staff.
During these several days, they stayed in farmers' houses in very remote areas and recorded the changes that Heifer brought to the families and the communities for many years.

2. On 16th of July, 2 volunteers, Yezi and Wang Yu volunteered and helped to arrange HPI China Project Partners Meeting.

3. From 19th to 23rd of July, Zhang Zhihui and Bai Tian, 2 student volunteers from Southwest Petroleum Institute and Sichuan Agricultural University participated in arrangement work of HPI China Office's library.
During these 5 days, they classified all the books and magazines and filed them. After the processing, staff can easily find out their needs according to the classification and labels. Both of them expressed that they had learned a lot in this activity and deepened their understanding to HPI China.

4. From 16th to 17th of August, HPI's volunteer, Ms. Xiang Ying participated in administrative work. She mainly takes responsibilities of reception and distribution of letters.

Heifer China Program

Heifer Project International (HPI) sent its first shipment of dairy cows to China through the United Nations Relief Service in 1947. HPI returned to China in 1985, after a delegation from the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Animal Husbandry visited HPI Headquarters in 1984. In 1989, HPI built China Office in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Read More
